MEET YOUR FRIENDS AT "THE PRESCRIPTION STORE” OWEN’S PHARMACY. Phone 202. WALGREEN AGENCY THE SCHOOL LUNCH Every school child in North Carolina should have an adequate lunch each day—a lunch that would provide one-third to one half his daily food requirement. Children should be provided lunch at school or at home or with a packed lunch from home. Lunches at places other than those are apt to be inadequate. Lunch at school is a regular part of the school program and should be one of the most satisfactory methods of providing for 'the child’s needs. It is a convenient and valuable service in the pres ent day school program, with bus transportation of children, mothers employed outside the home and the many hazards facing children when off the school campus dur ing the lunch hour. Lunch at school can be provided at a lower cost than can a comparable meal be provided at home. The volume of operation, low overhead cost and the Federal assistance in cash and commodtiies makes this pos sible. In addition to the above advant ^AAA^VWVWWSAA^VSAA^AAAA^W. ages of lunch at school, it offers unlimited opportunities for educa tional and social development of the child through dining with his classmates, learning to eat new foods, developing good food habits, good table manners Only the food eaten gives nourishment and children should take advantage of the opportuni ties of being well-fed.—Polk Coun ty Health Department.
